PCCs and forces can learn much from those who have already entered into these arrangements. We found good examples of well-run procurement processes and carefully managed contracts. Both forces and private sector partners said they wanted to help the policing sector become more of an ‘intelligent customer’ This guide will be of particular use to chief constables and police and crime commissioners. It is based on good practice and areas of learning identified in the police forces we visited. The College of Policing could be active in helping forces achieve this.
