In 1994 Interface set out to have zero negative impact on the planet by 2020. This was a bold step for a billion dollar carpet tile manufacturer that had never thought about the environment. The more ambitious and aspirational your mission, the greater its power. Don’t settle for incremental goals. If you want to transform something, set a goal that you don’t know how to achieve yet. Don’t set an incremental goal. If it was easy, it would have been done already. Moonshot goals can be uncomfortable, but can also be transformational for your people.
