Principal Category Manager-hybrid

Value Match are supporting a Public Sector Client to appoint a Principal Category Manager on permanent basis. The role has a salary of up to £50,000 based on experience and is predominantly home based, candidates can be based anywhere in the UK but will need to travel to the NW Hub (Salford) and to client and supplier sites monthly.

The Principal Category Manager will work in the construction and estates team, which offers support l to thousands of clients across the NHS and wider public sector. The PMC will use their expert knowledge to ensure cohesive strategies in the delivery of portfolio framework agreements. Supported by an established and driven team, responsible for initiating and coordinating research, the PCM will support the development of strategic sourcing strategies.

Candidates applying for this role should have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience or knowledge of working with the NHS and/or Public Sector
  • Knowledge of UK Public Contracts Regulations (PCR2015)
  • Experience of construction category, with an understanding of the stages of a construction project
  • Experience of framework delivery
  • Degree educated/equivalent
  • CIPS Level 4- 6
  • IT literate (experienced user of tools such as: Ariba/Jaggaer/Bravo/Atamis/Coupa) Advanced
