Big brands rely heavily on sub-contracting production to low-income countries with low wages and minimal social protections for workers. In a model where brands dictate prices and purchasing practices, they often function as de facto employers and must be held accountable.

Brands are clearly not doing enough to protect workers from the financial impact of the Covid-19 crisis.

Globally, garment workers are owed billions in unpaid wages,  bonuses, and severance since the pandemic began.

This research links the struggles of workers in Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Indonesia directly to wealthy brands who have profited from their labour.
