2021 edition of the United Nations World Water Development Report focuses on valuing water. Report assesses the ways water in which is valued across different sectors and identifies how this process can be improved.
Over 2 billion people already live in areas subject to water stress. Some 3.4 billion people, 45% of the global population, lack access to safely managed sanitation facilities. The report, coordinated by UNESCO, was made possible thanks to the Government of Italy and the Regione Umbria, which have long supported UNESCO’s World Water Assessment Programme.
