According to the IPCC, eliminating emissions by 2050 is the only way to stave off the worst effects of climate change. When emissions stop, global warming will as well, and temperatures will eventually stabilise at 1.5º above pre-industrial levels. In recent years, the phrase “net zero” has become increasingly important. Governments are enacting new legislation to mandate net zero targets.
