There are millions of farms globally, each using a unique set of practices to cultivate their products in the local climate and soils. For any commodity, there are many thousands of different production systems. Relative GHG emissions of producing the same product may differ drastically depending on how and where it is grown. To fully understand how to mitigate emissions and on which farms to focus mitigation efforts, we need a better grasp of the variations and gaps in data.
