The UK is hosting the G7 summit in June 2021 and the UN climate summit in Glasgow in November 2021. The UK must lead by example with new policy and funding that puts it on track to achieving its world-leading domestic goal of net zero carbon emissions by 2050. The country needs to set major changes in motion over the next decade to reach this goal. But policies announced since the start of 2020 are not enough to get on track. New decarbonisation policies have a mixed impact on different sectors, with no sector currently looking like it.
