Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) was founded to mobilize private sector to set emissions reduction targets in line with climate science. Over 1,000 companies are working with the SBTi to reduce their emissions 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. SBTi is now approaching a critical mass of companies setting science-based targets in many sectors and geographies. Progress has been particularly strong in developed economies, particularly in developed countries. But there is still room for room for more ambitious targets to be adopted.
